Susan W. White, Ph.D.

Associate Professor

As director of the PI Lab, Dr. White's research seeks to identify psychological processes across disorders and diagnoses that could inform the development of appropriate treatments to better the quality of life outcomes for those with neurodevelopmental disorders like Autism Spectrum Disorders, as well as anxiety.

Andrea T. Wieckowski, M.S.

Doctoral Candidate

Andrea's research interests revolve around children and adolescents with ASD and the use of technology for diagnosis and treatment. She has worked with eye-gaze patterns during facial emotion recognition and expression tasks, and she intends to explore the feasibility of attention modification interventions for these deficits.

Nicole N. Capriola-Hall, B.S.

Doctoral Student

Nicole's research interests include examining information processing deficits across anxiety disorders, especially in social anxiety disorder. Her work aims to explore socio-evaluative fears across various forms of psychopathology in children and adolescents. Nicole has also worked to develop better transition supports for those with ASD.

Grace Lee Simmons, B.S.

Doctoral student

Grace Lee is a first year graduate student in Clinical Psychology. She is primarily interested in psychosocial interventions for children and adolescents with ASD, particularly those integrating creative and/or performance-based skills (music, art, etc.).

Rebecca Elias, M.S.

Doctoral Candidate

Rebecca's primary research interest is determining evidence-based transition supports for emerging adults with ASD. She is also interested in executive function as a target in interventions, across diagnoses. She has conducted a needs-analysis of parent-reported strengths and difficulties among young adults with ASD and ADHD.

Isaac C. Smith, M.S.

Doctoral Student

Isaac's work centers on evaluating outcomes and quality of life for adolescents and adults on the Autism spectrum. He is particularly interested in examining the effects of comorbid psychopathology such as depression or anxiety in those with ASD. Isaac also hopes to develop better methods of assessment for emerging adults with ASD.
